[Introduction to FT232R]
With the development of computer technology, the parallel port and serial port slowly disappeared on the PC, and now there are few parallel ports on the desktop. But for engineers, both the parallel port and the serial port are essential interfaces, especially the serial port. For a computer without a serial port, the most convenient solution is to use a USB to serial port chip to virtualize a serial port. Many manufacturers have such chips, such as the CP210x series of silicon LABS, the TUSB3410 of TI, and the CH34x series of Nanjing Yuheng. FTDI's FT232 series, Prolific's PL230x series, Aike's ARK3116 and more. From the perspective of stability, the FT232 series is the most reliable, and it can be used to safely debug the program without worrying about the blue screen.
The FT232R chip is a single-chip solution that typically uses essentially no peripherals. The EEPROM, USB matching resistors, and EEPROM for placing product information are already integrated. The FT232R has some more useful features. See the FT232R data sheet for details.
